Ruby on Rails
Ruby is a dynamic, open-source programming language with a focus on simplicity and productivity. It has an elegant syntax that is natural to read and easy to write. Ruby has been adapted to run on many different computer platforms and architectures.
This means that if you develop a Ruby program on one machine, it’s likely you’ll be able to run it without any changes on a different machine. You can use Ruby, in one form or another, on all the following operating systems and platforms:
i. Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10
ii. Mac OS X
iii. Linux
iv. BSDs (including FreeBSD and OpenBSD)
v. Any platform for Java Virtual Machine exists (using JRuby)
