7 Layer Architecture of IoT
The architecture of IoT is usually considered to be 7 layers:
Layer-1- Things layer: It is comprised of devices, sensors, controllers etc.
Layer-2- Connectivity/Edge Computing layer: This layer defines the various communication protocols and networks used for connectivity and edge computing.
Layer-3- Global Infrastructure layer: This layer is typically implemented in cloud infrastructures.
Layer-4- Data ingestion layer: It includes bigdata, cleansing, streaming and storage of data.
Layer-5- Data analysis layer: It relates to data reporting, mining, machine learning, etc.
Layer-6- Applications layer: It comprise of the custom applications that is actually making use of the things data.
Layer-7- People and Process layer: This layer includes people, businesses, collaboration and decision making based on the information derived from IoT computing.
