Components of Video Display

Video:

Just like text, audio and steel images, Video is also a powerful element of multimedia systems. Video or motion pictures are created by displaying images depicting progressive stages of motion at a rate fast enough so that the projection of individual images overlaps the eye. Persistence of vision of the human eye, which allows any projected image to persist for 40-50 ms, requires a frame rate of 25-30 frames per second to ensure a smooth motion picture perception.

Components of Video Display:

In a video display:
1. Horizontal Resolution: It is the number of distinct vertical lines that can be produced in a frame.

2. Vertical Resolution: It is the number of horizontal scan lines in a frame.

3. Aspect Ratio: It is the width-to-height ratio of a frame.

4. Interlace: It is the ratio of the frame rate to the field rate.
