Server/Compute Virtualization:
Server/Compute Virtualization refers to making a virtual edition of a device or resource, such as a server, storage device, network or an operating system where the structure splits the resources as one or more environments for execution. Partitioning of the hard drive is also considered virtualization. These resources can interact with users and act as a single logical resource and permitting you to achieve more with your prevailing resources.
The lack of virtualization hardware is dedicated to a particular objective, whether or not it is used vigorously. The whole configuration has to be reconstructed in case of failure of the hardware. It offers us the provision to work on various platforms.
Server/Compute Components:
The logical components of a server/compute system comprise the following:
File System: A file is a collection of related records or data stored data. Various access permissions can be given to the files by the owner.
Operating System: Application and physical components of the compute system are handled by the operating system. Hardware resource allocation and management are also handled by the OS. Basic storage management tasks are also provided by the operating system. Fundamental components, such as the file system, volume manager and device drivers are under the control of the OS.
Volume Manager: Logical volume managers (LVMs) initiate a logical layer between the operating system and physical storage. Logical storage structures become visible adjacent to the operating system and applications, etc, to allow the creation and control of logical storage.
Device Drivers: Specific driver means special software that allows an operating system to interrelate with devices like printers, etc. With the help of a device driver, the operating system can recognize various devices.
